If there is ever a need for PT tourism to have a representative that truly exemplifies the hospitality and welcoming spirit of the Portuguese people they need look no further than Miguel and his son. Even though it was cloudy and sprinkled a bit of rain, they made the sail memorable and so enjoyable! I would highly recommend the experts anyone visiting Lisbon!

Simply perfect!! It couldn't have been better. Miguel and Lourenço were extremely attentive. It was a lot of fun and we managed to see many of Lisbon's historic landmarks from the boat. I'm from Lisbon and I know the city very well but without a doubt I will repeat this experience!! OBRIGADA!!

Amazing view from the water This incredible tour is the perfect ending to a peaceful evening! My husband and I booked the most brilliant sail with Miguel and had so much fun! It’t a must to see Lisboa from the river, it’s a game changer.

An intimate sail into the sunset and back We booked a sunset cruise with Miguel, expecting to be with several other passengers. It turned out to be just us and Miguel and his son as crewman. The weather turned perfect and under the adroit handling of his lovely sailboat, we sailed by Lisbon heading upriver, enjoying the beauty of the city before, tacking and turning toward the west. We sailed under the 25th of April bridge towards Belem as the sun dropped spectacularly below the horizon leaving the sky an amazing array of oranges and purples. Miguel told us about the various monuments we passed, and about his love of sailing and his vast experience navigating the river, currents, and the differences between that and open ocean sailing. His son made sure the sails were properly trimmed, and kept us comfortable while offering us the most lovely wine. We'll definitely go again. You can't beat the view of this incredible city from aboard an intimate sailboat. Even better with a lifelong sailor as captain.

Great Way to Start our Holiday We did this cruise on the evening of our first day in Lisbon. It was a great way to overcome jet lag and get oriented.

Miguel was both an excellent captain and an engaging tour guide, telling us many stories as we cruised by the various monuments and buildings.

All in all, a great evening.

Sunset on the Tagus We went on the sunset trip with Miguel and Marco. There were only two couples on our trip. The boat was beautiful and Miguel was extremely knowledgeable about everything on or off the Tagus river. He had a great passion for sailing and seemed very at ease on the water when manoeuvring the boat and sails. Marco was supporting him and he couldn’t do any more for us, making sure we were warm with blankets and a cold refreshment. We absolutely loved the sunset tour. It was beautiful. We could have stayed on the boat all night, seeing the sights and listening to Miguel tell us about everything. Definitely recommend this as something to do whilst you visit Lisbon. For the price point it is amazing value. Thanks Miguel and Marco for a great end to our trip!!!

The sunset was beautiful.The sail boat was beautiful, the daughter is amiable and considerate. There should be a rotation rule on board for the front sear as there was one couple who sat towards the bow the whole time and we couldn’t get one decent good picture with them in the way. We asked the father (captain) if we could stand in front of the boat for a picture, but he said it was not safe then as the wind was strong, but we were just hoping that he could be more considerate and find a spot for us to have a picture.I understand I was perching a lot and perhaps was right for me to be told off at one point due to safety concerns, but I think it was prejudiced of the father not to talk to me about landmarks and explain other things when he went around and explaining things to the rest of the guests. I felt very ignored and frustrated. I took the trip as an experience, and I was just hoping to get one good pic as a memory, which i failed to achieve. Otherwise, everything else was great

We had an amazing experience on the Private Sailing Tour along the Tagus River! The scenery was breathtaking, with stunning views of Lisbon’s skyline and iconic landmarks like the Belém Tower and the 25 de Abril Bridge. What an amazing evening! The boat, water, views of Lisbon-- all beautiful! The crew were wonderful. They were friendly to the kids, made everyone comfortable, and even invited my husband (who has sailing experience) to take the helm. It was my kids favorite memory from the whole trip!

WOW, what an incredible experience! From the moment we arrived at the boat, we were made to feel welcome and like nothing was a bother. The sailing lasted for around 2 hours and was an experience we will never forget. The views of Lisbon at sunset were remarkable, and we even seen some dolphins as an added bonuses. I couldn't fault this trip, and would book again! A true 5 star experience!

A perfect way to celebrate 20 years of marriage!! I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Sailing with Sal. My wife and I took a sunset cruise to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. It was great! Miguel met us promptly at the dock when he said he would and welcomed us on his boat, which was very nice and in tip-top shape. His first mate (and daughter), Bea, tended to us wonderfully. Such nice people. We had a lovely time and it was the perfect way to celebrate our milestone. We had such a great time in Portugal, and this was our favorite activity while we were there. Five star experience all the way!!

Miguel parle très bien le français ce qui a rendu l’expérience plus intéressante pour ma famille francophone. Miguel and his wife were excellent hosts and able sailors. We were shown many interesting sights along the river. We had some nice wine and snacks. It was a beautiful evening, but a bit cool and breezy, so they even offered us blankets if we wanted to keep us comfortable and cozy. We did the sunset cruise and learned a lot about Portuguese river life and customs. I went with my adult daughter and teenage granddaughter.

Great sailing tour and a really relaxing experience The trip was amazing. We sailed all the time we were out of the port. We learned a lot about the sights of Lisbon as well as the idiosyncrasy of Tagus waters, currents and winds.
Captain Miguel was all too attentive to the guests safety and comfort while vice captain Beatrice was taking care of our well being and education

Amazing experience The sunset tour was spectacular. Miguel and his colleague (apologies as I didn't get her name) were amazing hosts. Booking was easy and the views of Lisbon as the sun sets were amazing. We learned a lot about the city and the wine was a bonus! I thoroughly recommend.

Absolutely the best choice to have booked this trip. Firstly, the trip took place much later than the others, so that towards the end there were hardly any other boats on the boat. There were only 9 guests on the boat, so it was basically a private trip. And secondly, the "skipper" and his young "trainee" made a lot of effort to ensure a unique experience for all guests and made the trip a great experience. The trip must definitely be recommended, as it is in stark contrast to all the loud and crowded party boats that were also on the boat.

My wife and I really enjoyed our tour of the Tagus river, we got to see all the major landmarks and hear interesting tidbits of information about Portugal/Lisbon whilst enjoying a glass of wine in the sun. We would highly recommend Sailing with Sal to anyone looking at booking a sailing tour of the river.

Amazing experience. Our guide and his son were very nice and made sure we were confortable the whole time. Miguel took the time to tell us about the history of the monuments we saw, which was very interesting. Our ride was confortable and the views were breathtaking as we watched the sun set over Lisbon, from the water. I do recommend dressing comfortably and with warm layers as it gets quite chilly on the water, but they did offer us some blankets too!

It was such an incredible experience! The boat was clean and comfortable. Although the wind wasn’t ideal for sailing we were able to catch some by the end of the sail and it was great! The views from the river are beautiful and would do it again in a heartbeat!

Miguel was absolutely great - we were a bit late and he waited for us. The weather was incredible and it's an incredible trip to enjoy the sunset! Must come back!!!

We sailed on a nice boat and the captain was telling us about the history, and also about his life as a sailer, which was both very interesting. We were a bit unlucky with the current v.s. the wind, so the motor was required during the full trip, but it wasn´t noisy.

Brilliant! Captain Miguel is a great host who is happy to share his knowledge about Portugal and the larger world. The boat is comfortable, clean and well-maintained. This cruise was one of the highlights of our trip.

We had a wonderful time. It was very informative, and the crew was nice, friendly, respectful and professional. Would reccommend this tour, it worked great that it was a later time for us, this way we enjoyed Lisbon for longer.

Die Segelrundfahrt in der wunderschönen Bucht vor Lissabon mit Miguel von Sailingwithsal war ein unvergessliches Erlebnis! Das Segeln entlang des Flusses Tejo bot nicht nur eine atemberaubende Aussicht auf die historische Skyline von Lissabon, sondern auch eine entspannte Atmosphäre, die zum Genießen der Sehenswürdigkeiten einlud. Besitzer und Skipper Miguel war äußerst professionell und freundlich, und die Route war perfekt geplant, um die Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt vom Wasser aus zu erkunden. Mein persönliches Highlight war die Durchfahrt unter der Brücke Ponte de 24. April. Ich kann diese Tour jedem empfehlen, der Lissabon aus einer neuen Perspektive erleben möchte!

Es war eine wunderschöne Segeltour auf einem tollen Boot. Wir konnten den Sonnenuntergang bei einem Glas Wein wunderbar genießen und mein Mann durfte sogar einige Zeit das Boot steuern. Wir können diese Tour jedem empfehlen!

Estuvimos con Miguel, el cual fue encantador con nosotros. Increíble el crucero con su velero. Las vistas espectaculares Nos tomamos 2 copas de vino y un snack a lo largo del viaje. Para finalizar nos regalo un shot para compartir los 3 y así despedir la velada. Volvería sin dudarlo.

Lisbon sunset We were with Miguel, who was lovely to us.Incredible cruise with your sailboat. The spectacular viewsWe had 2 glasses of wine and a snack throughout the trip. To finish, he gave us a shot to share with the three of us and thus say goodbye to the evening.I would return without hesitation.

Miguel proved to be the ultimate, consummate, professional. Effortlessly navigating the Targus in some gusty conditions, he made his passengers comfortable and explained just how the river needed certain types of sailing techniques depending upon season of the year or time of day. A superb way to see Lisbon without fighting crowds or transportation schedules. Highly recommended.

Der Segeltripp war perfekt - bei sonnigem Wetter Lissabon vom Wasser aus erklärt bekommen hat wirklich Spass gemacht. Es war so perfekt, dass mein Partner seine Pläne geändert hat und mir spontan einen Heiratsantrag gemacht hat! Was für ein emotionaler Moment. Miquele hat tolle Fotos davon gemacht und nach der Tour mit uns angestossen - unvergesslicher Tag.

Foncez ! Une croisière inoubliable ! 2h de pur bonheur. Miguel et le deuxième skipper ont été adorable ! Ils nous ont fait nous sentir extrêmement a l'aise. Le bateau est somptueux et très bien entretenu. Nous avons eu du vin pendant la croisière. Ils ont extrêmement bien géré pour qu'on puisse être face au coucher du soleil, ce moment était très sympa et très agréable. Nous recommandons fortement cette excursion. l'emplacement est très facile a trouver et moins loin que les autres qui sont a la tour de Belem. Merci pour tout, continuez comme ça !

fantastic day! we had a fabulous afternoon with miguel and his wife! seeing lisboa from the water is the best! he has a fabulous sail boat! they provide snacks wine and beer! miguel is very knowledgeable of portugal history! it was a special day sailing on the Tagus with friends!

This was an excellent trip. The hosts were helpful, generous and friendly and the boat smart and clean. They went out of their way to make sure all guests were happy and felt they had space on the boat. The hosts spent time with everyone individually without being intrusive

Had an awesome time sailing in Lisbon with Sal! The crew was super professional and the views from the front of the boat were unbeatable. Really enjoyed the refreshments and the captain’s cool city stories! Loved that he got we wanted some alone time and left us to enjoy the sunset—it was beautiful! I had an absolutely incredible experience on the Tagus River Sailboat Tour in Lisbon on September 26th. From the moment we boarded the sailboat, I knew it was going to be a special day. The boat was spacious and comfortable, and the views of Lisbon's skyline were breathtaking. The highlight of the tour, besides the stunning scenery, was the attentive and friendly crew. They not only ensured our safety but also made us feel welcomed and entertained throughout the journey. Their knowledge of the area and the history of Lisbon added an educational element to the trip. One of the most memorable moments was when we were served drinks while basking in the warm sun and cool breeze. It was the perfect way to relax and soak in the beauty of the river and the city. Just a brill evening all round. Wonderful relaxed evening with friendly crew, sitting on front of boat with a beer & a wine, enjoying the views and local monuments, finishing with s gorgeous sunset, and finally a local cherry liquor to finish it all off. Brill!

Sailing went very well. Miguel and his crew are friendly. Everything worked as it should. Communication, sailing, and services. Strong recommendation. Great timing for the sunset and modern sailing boat. Enjoyed our time. Unfortunately the guide felt more like a skipper. Instead of giving us a tour and explaining the sights he asked us to scan a QR Code and read texts on a virtual map/app. So for us it was more about enjoying the views then actually having a guided tour.

Activité fantastique ! En petit comité, personnel très chaleureux et accueillant. Je recommande les yeux fermés. Nous avons passés un moment magique. Plusieurs verres de vins offerts, couvertures prévus et explications sur les monuments de Lisbonne. Plusieurs croisières sont organisées sur le Tage mais je pense que niveau qualité/prix celle ci est la meilleure! N’hésitez pas vraiment

Went on a private sailing tour along the shores of Lisbon with guide Miguel from sailing with Sal. Sail boat was larger than expected and offered a very comfortable trip. Miguel provided an excellent trip with a great balance of information and time to just relax and enjoy the views. He even provided a restaurant recommendation for the next city on our journey. Overall good value for the money and a wonderful peaceful evening.
